The amount of movement often confuses people when they are purchasing a waterbed or new mattress. so read below and i will provide you with the necessary information.

How to measure a waterbed frame
Mattress Sizes
Softsided – Waterbeds with foam shoulders
A Waterbed with a foam surround or foam shoulders come in a number of sizes, the vinyl waterbed mattress will need to be smaller to allow for the foam, so the waterbed bladder itself will not measure 5’0 x 6’6 using a queen size as an example, it just means the mattress will fit into a queen size bed assuming your foam measures 5’0 x 6’6 – measuring from outer edge to outer edge on width and length.
Single: 3’0 x 6’3
Double: 4’6 x 6’3
Queen: 5’0 x 6’6
King: 6’0 x 6’6
Hardsided Waterbeds or timber framed
A hardsided waterbed, or referred to as a timber framed waterbed are usually a little bit bigger than a softsided waterbed, theses mattresses are basically the same size as the frame they are to be placed in, they are not undersized unlike the softsided bed, simply measure the size of your wooden frame to find the correct size mattress.
Sometimes, people convert a hardsided waterbed into a hybrid, this means you have a timber frame, but a foam surround sits within the frame of the bed, contact us if you require a mattress for this type of bed.
Single: 3’3 x 6’6
Double: 4’6 x 6’6
